Our new home.
Establishing a Christ-centered presence in the Old Market had been continually pressing on the hearts of our leadership. The search began in early 2005 for a meeting space that could expand as the ministry grew but stilll captured a young single's awareness
As the search pressed on, balancing the desire to be downtown and staying within the means of our tithes became increasingly more difficult. Only God's intervention would be able to secure a cost-effective downtown location.
In April 2006, GAMe contacted a Christian business man running an events center at 1316 Jones, an Old Market historical landmark. This partnership gave the ministry space for Monday Night Bible Study as well as a venuse for outreach events. However, the main floor had some challenges with conflicting music, noise, and cigarette smoke rising up from the bar below.
After many months of prayer, we learned that the bar in the basement was going out of business. Negotiations began with the building owners to lease the basement space. In His perfect timing, God answered the hope for a more permanent downtown location.
The demolition portion of the basement alone was estimated to cost about $45,000. With the aid of over 60 people from 20 churches, investing more than 1,200 man hours, this work was completed for less than $3,600 - a true testimony of how the body of Christ works together.
Currently, we have a 6,000 square foot of space to minister out of complete with 8 Bible study rooms, a worship center, and a coffee bar.
